Kelly L. Simmons

“That I do not accept the faith that possessed them does not mean I doubt their frequent devotion and heroism in its service. Especially their women. Their women were incredible.”—Wallace Stegner, The Gathering of Zion.

I begin with this quote because it is the women of the early faith I’m drawn to. The strength that was required of them is almost incomprehensible. And yet they encircled themselves and their families within it. It is for them I write.
